Description
Dating to the last quarter of the 19th century and being crafted in solid and veneer oak, this stunning Louis XV style armoire is in very good condition and will come completely flat for ease of going upstairs.
Standing on traditional escargot feet with carved acanthus leaf knees, the armoire has a full width apron drawer which is constructed with hand cut dovetail joints, runs with ease and has a moulded edge.
To the inside there is a drawer to the bottom which has a couple of later button knobs fitted.
Above this there are 4 shelves which are fully adjustable up and down. If required a telescopic hanging rail can be fitted for £15.00.
This is all enclosed with a pair of arch top mirror doors complete with original bevel edge glass and original working lock with key. The glass is all good with no significant foxing.
This is all finished with a traditional ogee cornice. cornice and raised Rococo shell pediment.

This is a lovely piece of French furniture and would compliment the bedroom of any home traditional or modern.
There has in the past been a small amount of insect attack to the armoire ( mainly on pediment as shown in photo) but this is minimal and has been sprayed with a 5 star 30 year treatment..
The armoire measures;
51.5 inches wide / 55 to outside of cornice
17.75 inches deep max / 19.5 to outside of cornice / 15.5 inches internal
97 inches high over all.
